Symmetrical Lines

After we had an assessment we had to work on what we got wrong. I and some of my classmates were working on symmetrical lines. This was a very easy task for me but I think on the assessment I didn’t understand the question so clarifying a few details on the symmetrical line will help me on the next assessment I take. Below is a photo of my work.

Diwali Math

This was for Indian Language Week and we had to answer a DMIC question on slide two. This was confusing, challenging but fun. It had some thinking of how to solve it and had to go over the answer and question. Below is the slides for the DMIC question and on slide 2 is the question and answer that I have come up with.

Diversity Reading

This was a reading session based on the diversity of a community. This reading session not only improved my reading but it also helped me to recognise that each culture has diversity compared to one another and to recognise different cultures that share a common thing. Below are thee slides with the tasks that I had to complete.

Reading Diwali

I did this reading in Indian Language Week so I was reading books that were based off on the Indian Culture. I read the book called The Princess Who Outwitted Death. I enjoyed it but these were to easy to read and I was really hoping for a chapter book. Below is the book that I read so that you can read it to an comment your opinion on it. (Click on the book that has been mentioned)

Report Writing

We had to do report writing since school is nearly finished so we had to do a draft of our introduction on the document below. This was a bit challenging because there were some thins that I didn’t understand or misunderstood. The examples helped me out a lot when I didn’t understand.

Factual Writing

For this writing session, our task was to point out the vocabulary that fit the different types of vocabulary and to point out the main ideas from each paragraph. This was a challenging task not for the main ideas in the paragraphs but for the vocabulary because there were words in there that fit a type of vocab yet I still missed it or didn’t recognise it. Below is the document with each task on each side. (Main Ideas on the left side and Vocabulary on the right side)

Creating a WeVideo

This manaiakalani session was fun for me because there was a lot of things to do that were complex and was also new to me. The task was to create a short video on how to create a comment. At the bottom is the slides that we had to copy that gave us instructions on what to do in WeVideo.

What is Media?

This Tuesday morning in manaiakalani we learned  the definition of media. The slides below me are examples of media that I have seen in the last 24 hours.

While learning about media I realised how complex and how much media there is that I see or use in my daily life. This not only affects me but all of us. I loved learning about this because it was challenging but a sort of fun kind of learning.

What media do you mainly use?

Scon Making

Last week Tuesday our class was split into two groups. The first group would bake scones with our teacher’s dad while the other group baked with him in the next half of block 1. It was really easy to make the scones since the company Mr Yorwarth works/bakes for already had the cooking mix ready. I was buddied up with Leslee and for our toppings we chose dates.  I loved the result in the end and when we were baking I loved cutting the dates into thirds and taking the scones out of the oven. The photo below is me and Leslee with our baking masterpiece uncooked.
